Upload & Data Policy

1. What You Can Upload

VitaeGene allows users to upload:

• Original photos of your own food, meals, and supplements taken with your own device (Pro & Premium plans only for food plate image upload)
• Supplement label images for AI wellness analysis
• Manual health readings (blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI entries)
• Your own personal wellness documents (prescriptions, lab reports, diagnosis cards, vaccination records) into the Wellness Vault
• Profile photos and personal wellness data
• Your own wellness notes or journal entries

2. Food Plate Image Upload (Pro & Premium Only)

Uploading food plate photos for AI food recognition, OCR nutrient extraction, and AI meal analysis requires a Pro or Premium subscription. Free and Essential users may use manual food and calorie entry. Food plate images are processed by AI solely to provide educational nutritional estimates — not medical nutrition diagnoses.

3. Wellness Vault Uploads

Documents uploaded to the Wellness Vault are stored as your personal wellness records. By uploading:

• You confirm you own or have lawful access to the documents
• You understand stored documents are personal wellness records — not verified clinical records
• You understand AI summaries of documents are for personal wellness reference only
• You accept retention and deletion terms applicable to your subscription plan
• You retain full ownership and control of all uploaded records at all times

4. What You Must NOT Upload

• Copyrighted books, eBooks, PDFs, medical articles, or publications without permission
• Private medical records or health documents belonging to other people without their explicit consent
• Images downloaded from stock photo sites without a valid licence
• Pirated or illegally obtained material of any kind
• Illegal, defamatory, harmful, or offensive content
• Logos, brand assets, or trademarks you do not own
• Any content that violates others' rights or applicable law

5. Family Data Uploads

Family Wellness is currently a planned feature and not active. When it becomes available, entering health data or details for family members will require you to confirm that you have obtained the consent of those family members (or their legal guardians if applicable) to store their basic wellness information within the app.

6. AI Processing of Uploads

Images, health readings, and wellness data you upload may be processed by AI systems for the purpose of generating nutritional estimates, supplement wellness analysis, food identification, OCR text extraction, and wellness guidance. All AI analysis is for educational wellness purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. AI may make errors — users should verify important health information with a qualified healthcare professional.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Uploaded content is retained according to your active subscription plan's retention policy. If your plan downgrades or expires, you will receive advance warning before any automatic deletion. You may export or download your records before deletion takes effect. Deleted content is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

8. How We Handle Your Uploads

Content you upload is used exclusively to provide you with AI-assisted wellness analysis and wellness insights. We do not sell, share, or commercially distribute your personal uploads to third parties. AI analysis results are stored as wellness reference summaries — not as reproductions of any third-party content.

9. User Content Agreement

By uploading content, you confirm that you own it or have permission to upload it, and that you accept all applicable upload, retention, and deletion policies. Proceeding with an upload constitutes your acceptance of this agreement.

10. Our Right to Remove Content

VitaeGene reserves the right to remove any uploaded content that we reasonably believe violates this policy or applicable law. We may do so without prior notice.

11. Repeat Violation Policy

Users who repeatedly upload infringing or prohibited content will face account suspension or permanent termination.

12. Reporting Violations

If you believe another user has uploaded content that infringes your rights, please report it via our DMCA page or email legal@vitaegene.app.
